Joe has the shits know
We started early as Mohammed had warned us about the time it may take to get through this border and we had heard horror stories about potentially up to 8 hours at the border.
With a swift 3 hour drive we had arrived, whilst our fixer was sorting out the Iran side of things we went for a coffee.
An hour later relevant documents had been checked, there was a slight mishap with our car as the guy that had arranged our car details when we entered Iran, had typed the cars VIN number in incorrectly luckily for us Mohamed smoothed it all over and we were into No-Mans land.
The Turkmenistan border is where it all took some time. We gave the LOI to the relevant person, then we had to pay to get the actual visa. Once this had been sorted passengers went through a quick airport style security gate and the driver and car got searched in a vehicle bay.
Everything in the car just like Transinistra had to be taken out and inspected, there was a slight issue when they found joes Drone which is apparently prohibited in Turkmenistan but all the guards did was make him sign a piece of paper and put a metal tag around it which got easily removed later.
The whole process from start to end was about 4 and half hours long but we were in hurray!!
Turkmenistan was a very significant country on our route for many reasons
Now we were in a country where we could drink the rest of the night basically involved drinking and dancing in the hotel as every other bar in town shuts at 11pm and our hotel which facilitates a brothel/Nightclub which we didn't know at the time has the only place open past 11pm
